Eight hours. That's all the time the device needed. A Bitaxe, barely larger than a credit card, connected to a standard household power supply, linked via Public Pool, and then: Block 957,382. No data center, no cooling tower, no fan noise of a warehouse. Just a desk somewhere and a device that, according to CoinDesk, cost less than $150.
What really happened on July 10, 2026, in Bitcoin solo mining?
A solo miner with a Bitaxe found block number 957,382 and collected 3.1382 BTC for it: the current block reward of 3.125 BTC plus 0.0132 BTC in transaction fees. The Bitaxe uses the same Bitmain BM1370 chip as industrial Antminer S21s but delivers only 1 to 1.3 Terahash per second at 15 to 21 watts, instead of the several thousand watts of an industrial facility. CoinDesk reported on July 14 about the find and classified it as the second documented case in which a single Bitaxe found a complete block via Public Pool.

How much was the found block really worth?
CoinDesk estimates the value at approximately $200,000. Converting it with the exchange rate of that week yields about 173,000 Euros. This is a derived estimate, not a directly reported Euro figure, as the exact BTC exchange rate at the time of the find on July 10 was not separately stated. What is certain: 3.125 BTC block reward plus fees; the rest is exchange rate dependent, as with any Bitcoin amount. If the rate dropped, the sum would have been smaller; if it surged, it would have been larger.
