THE MOST IMPORTANT IN BRIEF
A Bitaxe is a palm-sized open-source Bitcoin miner that independently searches for full blocks, and yes, several of these devices have demonstrably found real Bitcoin blocks.
Nine block finds since July 2024 can be attributed to small devices, four of them explicitly to a Bitaxe. The most recent is Block 957,382 from July 10, 2026: a Bitaxe Gamma with 995.2 Gigahash per second, reportedly operating for about eight hours.
Every line of the overview below can be verified on-chain via the block height. What cannot be read from the blockchain is the device: this attribution always comes from operator information and secondary sources, and this is how it is marked here.
The question sounds like an advertisement, but it is one of the few in solo mining that can be fully answered. Block height, timestamp, pool, and reward are immutably stored on the blockchain. Anyone can look them up. What follows is the complete list, with everything that can be proven, and everything that cannot.
Which Bitaxe devices have demonstrably found a Bitcoin block?
Since July 2024, nine block finds have been documented where a small device or an open-source miner submitted the solution. Four of these are explicitly attributed to a Bitaxe, including an unmodified factory device. Each block is verifiable on-chain, but the device attribution itself comes from secondary sources.

Two things stand out. First, the actually paid reward is always above 3.125 BTC, because the transaction fees of the block are added. Second, the find from March 29, 2025, is the most interesting on the whole list, because an unmodified factory device with around 1.2 TH/s won. No cluster, no overclocking, no workshop.
How can each of these block finds be verified?
Via the block height. Anyone who enters one of the numbers from the left column into mempool.space will see the timestamp, Coinbase transaction, paid reward, and the pool that submitted the block. This information comes from the blockchain itself and cannot be altered retrospectively by anyone, not even Polarblocks.
The limitation of this check is important and is overlooked in most reports. The blockchain knows no devices. It knows addresses and pools. Whether Block 889,975 was found by a Bitaxe Gamma or something else is based solely on what the operator reported and on the trackers that collect such reports.
Therefore, in the table above, the column "Device according to secondary source" is separate from the block data. Anyone quoting this overview should also quote the separation. Anything else would be a claim with the appearance of probative force.
How to check a find in three steps
1. Copy the block height from the table, for example 957,382, and enter it into the search on mempool.space.
2. Match the timestamp and reward with the table row. Both must match exactly.
3. Open the Coinbase transaction. It shows to which address the reward was sent and through which pool the block was submitted.
Why can a 17-watt device even win against industrial farms?
Because Bitcoin mining is not a race, but a lottery with constantly new drawings. Every computational attempt has the same tiny chance, regardless of who undertakes it. A large farm does not buy better tickets, but only more of them. A single ticket can still win.
That's the whole trick, and it's why the finds above cannot be dismissed as a statistical error. A new draw happens every ten minutes. A Bitaxe Gamma 601 participates in each of these draws, 52,560 times a year, without a ticket expiring or needing to be re-purchased.
The cost of this participation is low, but the average result is still negative. Anyone who claims otherwise is trying to sell something. The calculation is in the next section, complete and with today's exchange rate.
What are the chances for a single device in 2026?
According to mempool.space, the difficulty on August 19, 2026, is 127,479,855,693,691, and the network hashrate is approximately 940 exahash per second. A Bitaxe Gamma 601 with approximately 1.3 TH/s therefore has a chance of about 1 in 13,355 of finding a block within one year. The device from the July find, with 995.2 GH/s, had a chance of about 1 in 17,446.
The formula behind this is open: Difficulty multiplied by 4,294,967,296, divided by one's own hashrate in hashes per second. The result is the expected time until the first hit. If you use today's numbers, 1.3 TH/s results in approximately 13,355 years. The operator from July completed this waiting period in eight hours, and that's precisely the point of a lottery.
The expected value follows directly from this. A block yields 3.125 BTC plus transaction fees. At 58,619 Euros per Bitcoin on August 19, 2026, that's approximately 183,184 Euros, subject to exchange rate fluctuations. Divided by 13,355, this results in approximately 13.72 Euros per year, which is offset by approximately 52 Euros in electricity costs. The bottom line is a deficit of approximately 38 Euros per year.
How does the Bitaxe Gamma 601 compare to Eurojackpot and industrial miners?
The Bitaxe Gamma 601 has the worst calculated odds of the three, yet it's the only one that remains affordable for a home setup. An Antminer S21 Pro hits about 180 times more frequently, but consumes about 10,762 Euros worth of electricity per year. The Eurojackpot costs about 260 Euros and leaves behind waste paper after each drawing.

The Antminer S21 Pro is also a losing proposition. Its expected value is around 2,476 Euros per year, and its electricity bill is around 10,762 Euros. The difference to the Bitaxe Gamma 601 is not the direction of the result, but its magnitude.

What exactly happens if your device finds the block?
The reward goes directly to the Bitcoin address stored in the device. No provider needs to agree, no one can withhold the payment. After 100 more blocks, i.e., about 16 hours, the Coinbase reward becomes spendable. Before that, it can be seen but not moved.
Practically speaking: anyone who wants to solo mine needs a self-custodied wallet beforehand. A Bitaxe Home Solo Miner does not store keys; it only knows the target address. And then comes the part that hardly anyone mentions: A block find of this magnitude is tax-relevant in Germany. At around 183,184 Euros, there's no way around professional advice. Polarblocks is not a tax consultancy; the classification is in Solo Mining and Taxes.
Which solo finds cannot be assigned to any device?
Significantly more than the table above shows. Via solo pools alone, numerous other blocks have been found between November 2025 and August 2026, such as 924,569, 928,985, 938,713, 943,411, 944,306, 951,408, 955,703, 959,115 and 960,804. For none of these is it publicly documented which device was behind them.
These blocks are just as real on-chain as the others. They are only missing from the main overview because it should only contain finds for which there is a device specification at all. A solo pool block can originate from a small device or from a data center that wanted to remain inconspicuous.
An example of why this separation is necessary: Block 932,129 from January 13, 2026, ran via NiceHash and originated from rented computing power. It appears in some Bitaxe lists but does not belong there. No device was on a desk; hashrate was purchased.
Which figures apply in August 2026?
All network values are from the retrieval on August 19, 2026, at 20:05 UTC. Block data does not become outdated, but prices and difficulty do. The following overview shows the current status and next to it the value that was previously on this page.
Update August 2026
Documented finds: now nine with device specification, supplemented by the Bitaxe-Gamma find from July 10, 2026 (previously six entries, as of June 2026).
Block 913,632: now removed; block data shows ViaBTC as the submitting pool (previously listed as a solo find of a FutureBit Apollo II). The documented FutureBit find is Block 881,423.
Dates: now March 29, 2025, for Block 889,975 and October 23, 2025, for Block 920,440, each according to the blockchain timestamp (previously "end of March" and "October 27").

Yes. Block 889,975 from March 29, 2025, is attributed to a factory-standard Bitaxe Gamma with approximately 1.2 TH/s, without overclocking and without being part of a cluster. The block itself is documented on-chain; the device attribution comes from operator statements.
How many Bitaxe block finds are there in total?
Four finds are explicitly attributed to a Bitaxe: blocks 853,742, 887,212, 889,975, and 957,382. If you include other open-source small devices like NerdQAxe++ and FutureBit Apollo, there have been nine since July 2024.
Do multiple devices increase the chance?
Yes, linearly. Three Bitaxe Gamma 601s triple the annual chance to around 1 in 4,452, but also triple the power consumption to around 156 Euros per year. Block 887,212 was found by a cluster of six devices.
Why solo mining and not a regular mining pool?
With pool mining, very small amounts flow regularly, in the range of a few cents per month for 1.3 TH/s. With solo mining, everything flows with a very low probability. The expected value is similar in both cases, only the distribution differs radically.
Do more frequent finds mean the chances have improved?
No. The difficulty has increased since 2024, so the chance per device has decreased. The appearance of more finds is due to the growing number of small devices running and better documentation, not better odds.
